Zachi Baharav's Profile...
Zachi has a Ph.D. in Electrical engineering, who worked for more than a decade as a researcher and manager in the local hi-tech industry. Currently, he is doing his best to help kids and youth thrive through the education system.
Zachi believes chess is a game that can benefit the whole child. It helps improve both analytical thinking (tactics) and abstract reasoning (strategy). Chess helps acquire studying habits and dealing with competition, and the ability to succeed under pressure. For most of us, it teaches how to keep on going after a loss, and keep on improving. Zachi would like to see more kids playing chess, and especially would love to see more girls joining the sport!
Zachi lives in Palo Alto with his wife, son and daughter, and their dog. In his free time you can find him running on the hills overlooking the bay, or playing chess at a local tournament.
