General Information

  • What's New

    • 2021 Best of the West CLASSic Championship will:
      1. Take place on Independence Day Weekend (instead of the Memorial Day Weekend)
      2. Observe COVID-19 protocols based on national and local guidelines onsite
      3. Will be at the San Mateo Marriott (map)
      4. Will have 7 rounds of G/90 +30 in the regular/adult section.
  • What's Expected

    1. USCF membership is required, and you must renew/signup with your tournament registration so we can process and reconcile.
    2. July 2021 Supp, BAC min, CCA min, and TD discretion will be used to place players accurately.
    3. All scholastic sections (K-12 u1400) are for players under 18 years old who have not started college.
    4. We welcome all players ragardless of their rating and playing level.
  • Financial Transparency

    • The struggle is real, and so is inflation. That is bad news and good news...
      1. Bad news = The money in our pockets, in our bank accounts (American, Swiss, etc.), and under our mattress is worth less.
      2. Bad news = The expenses and fees have increased due to inflation.
      3. Good news = The prize fund has also increased proportionately.

    Note: If the award ceremony is delayed due to health and safety protocols, all players will be awarded equivalent BA€oins for redemption with safety protocols.

    1. Large trophies to top 5 clubs teams in all sections combined
    2. Large trophies to top 5 school teams in all sections combined
    3. Medium trophies to all other clubs and schools
    A “team” must have 2 or more players (no maximum) - Top 4 player's scores count toward a team's score
